Australian Gogglebox couple Wayne and Tom just got a new puppy, and they are naming it after their favourite drag queen.

The 45 and 47-year-old invested into the newest pet addition, a caramel cocker spaniel poodle cross, which they have lovingly called Brandy Snaps.

Brandy is the third pup to join the family and is settling into the home well. The pair hope that she symbolises the start of a better year after issues with health and unemployment.

“The most important thing (so far this year) is we got a new puppy,” Tom told the Daily Telegraph. “Her name is Brandy Snaps because all our dogs are named after drag queens.”

The couple introduced the dog to their fans on Instagram, where they wrote “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Brandy to the main stage! She enjoys biting and peeing on things, just like her daddy.”

The couple, who appear on the Melbourne branch of the show, are excited for the new season to begin airing.

“I think there’s going to be some very interesting characters this year, like that angry, angry man,” Wayne said.

Gay favourite from the UK version off the show, Chris Steed recently set a date for his wedding.

After getting engaged on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris last year the pair have confirmed they will marry on the 8th of July.

Steed’s former partner who he still appears on the show with, Stephen Webb, also recently announced his engagement.

Webb asked Lustig to marry him during their stay in the northern Indian city of Agra, during a much needed break from one of the nation’s favourite sofas.

Fans were quick to share their delight at the news, with one user writing: “Fab news and amazing start to 2016 for you!”

“Congrats! May I take this opportunity to say how much you’ve made me laugh these last couple of years. Thanks,” added another.
