A politician has claimed gay people should “treated as patients” in an angry Facebook post.

Shan Ju Lin, a prominent candidate for the One Nation party, made the comments on an old news story posted to Facebook.

The news story was regarding a gay couple from the UK who were accused of rape, and later completely cleared, was posted on her profile.

Ju Lin commented: “Abnormal sex behaviour leads to abnormal crime.

“Gays should be treated as patients, they need to receive treatments.”

People have reacted angrily to the post.

The Huffington post Australia contacted the politician for comment on the post but haven’t yet had a response.

It’s not the first time Ju Lin has been accused of homophobia.

She previously shared a badly photoshopped image of US President Barack Obama.

The image showed the president mocked up wearing make-up.
