James Corden has opened up about his love for the late George Michael.

The British chat show host had worked with the Wham! star back in 2011.

The pair worked on the original version of Carpool Karaoke, where the two drove around singing.

Now Corden has shared his love for the star as his chat show returns for 2017.

He said: “I feel like I’ve loved George Michael for as long as I’ve loved music.

“I can think of so many specific times in my life where I might have felt on my own, and George’s music would reach his hand out and tell you that you weren’t on your own.”

The pair’s original collaboration was for Comic Relief, a biannual UK charity fundraiser.

The singer appeared in a car driving round with the star and making fun of himself.

It would go on to inspire Mariah Carey to be the first Carpool Karaoke contestant.
