CBB star Stacy Francis sparks homophobia accusations with ‘gay boy’ comments

Celebrity Big Brother star Stacy Francis has been accused of homophobia after referring to another contestant as a “gay boy”.

Francis, a singer in the US, entered the CBB house on Tuesday.

She claims she was making a joke when she referred to Austin Armacost as a “gay boy” during a discussion on sleeping arrangements.

Speaking to James Jordan, Coleen Nolan and James Cosmo in the garden of the house, she repeatedly referred to Armacost as a “gay boy”.

Viewers took umbrage at the comments, accusing Francis of homophobia because she questioned if a straight male housemate would share a bed with a gay man “who wants him”.

She asked: “So he would sleep with a gay boy?”

After a long pause, Francis claimed she was joking, after James Jordan said: “Sorry, you’re American, I didn’t understand your humour.”

One viewer tweeted: “Clearly being gay is a problem to Stacy”.

And another added: “Stacy was high in my estimations until “that gay boy” comment, his name is Austin hun don’t go there”.

Following the comment, a Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson told Mirror Online: “As part of standard procedures, Big Brother often reminds housemates that language in the house can raise concerns and this was discussed with Stacy.”
