A popstar of 30 years has received a torrent of abuse after sharing a sweet parody video by two gay fans.

Beata Kozidrak has been a star in Poland for decades, and a long-standing private supporter of LGBT rights, according to RainbowStars Poland.

She shared the video of her two fans, Jakub and David, singing along to one of her songs in a video they had put together themselves.

The adorable video shows the men holding hands, occasionally kissing and having fun to one of their favourite songs.

The video has been seen some 30,000 times on YouTube since it was posted.

But the kind gesture wasn’t received well, with a torrent of abuse thrown at the star and her fans on Polish websites.

One wrote that the star “should buy a hammer and hit herself in a head”.

Other comments following the gay fans said, “That pig should be burnt on a stake”, said homosexuality “should be cured not promoted”.

One commenter wrote that they will now boycott the singer: “I’ve been your fan for 30 years, now it’s over.”

Poland has some of the most anti-gay views in Europe.

Amnesty International recently accused the country’s government of failing its LGBT citizens.

Amnesty said the LGBT community in Poland faces “widespread and ingrained discrimination”, citing estimations by Polish LGBT group Campaign Against Homophobia, that there are hundreds of hate crimes each year.
