BBC weather reporter Tomasz Schafernaker was unable to finish the Shipping Forecast for a bout of sickness.

The much loved presenter, who previously posed for Attitude magazine, appeared to splutter during the forecast.

Eventually he came off air altogether as it clearly got a bit too much for him.

The forecast was at 5:20am, just hours after the BBC South East Christmas party had ended.

It’s thought to be the first time the Radio 4’s Shipping Forecast has been interrupted in its 91 year history.

His agent said of the gaffe: “Tomasz was taken ill during an early morning shipping forecast following a long and demanding night shift on 4th December.

“Fortunately he handled the situation professionally and made a full recovery.”

It’s not the first time the weather presenter has been caught off guard.

He previously was forced to apologise after showing the middle finger to co-presenters while live on air.
