Warwick University’s world-famous rowers have stripped off in the heart of Westminster, in the team’s latest audacious stunt in support of equality.

In a new video, the naked athletes explained why they have sent copies of their 2017 calendar to Donald Trump.

“This is Westminster, our country’s main seat of power. It’s London, it’s December and it’s not that warm, but we are here because we have a message for the new leadership team in the United States and for all leaders around the world”, three of the rowers said, as they attracted a small crowd and passing traffic honked horns.

“As straight allies, we believe that everyone should have the same human rights, regardless of gender or sexual identity.

“This year, as every year, we have shed our clothes as a symbol of breaking down barriers, a demonstration of the contribution that sport can make to health and wellbeing and as a reminder that we are all equals in this challenging journey called life.

“So, President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Pence, we’re sending you our world famous calendar. In it, as here, we stand naked in front of the world to do what we can to make a difference.

“In turn, we call on you, and everyone else in positions of power, to stand before the world and show your commitment to equality, inclusion and human rights”, they added.

Regardless of their looks or charm, the rowers may have a tough time convincing Trump to come around to their point of view. As PinkNews has reported, every appointment to the next president’s cabinet opposes LGBT rights.

A caucus of Republican congressmen has published documents confirming it will press for Barack Obama’s LGBT rights protections to be overturned within Trump’s first 100 days.

The Warwick Rowers have published a naked calendar in support of the LGBT community every year for the last seven years.

Proceeds from sales are donated to charities, including the Sport Allies charity the team set up, which campaigns for LGBT equality.

Last month, the team launched its 2017 calendar with a raunchy teaser video.

The team claimed recently to have been banned from YouTube.

In 2014, the rowers were awarded the PinkNews Community Group of the Year award.
