Transgender TV series Transparent is up for two Golden Globes again this year, as its awards haul looks set to continue.

The Amazon TV show, which stars Jeffrey Tambor as trans woman Maura Pfefferman, has earned eight Emmys and two Golden Globes to date, winning acclaim for its groundbreaking portrayal.

Although some trans activists have criticised the show for casting a man as a transgender woman, it has also earned a following in the LGBT community.

The show’s success looks set to continue, picking up two nominations today for the 74th Golden Globe Awards.

Tambor was nominated again for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Television Series Musical or Comedy – the category he won in 2015.

The show as a whole was also nominated  for Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy).

Gay-themed BBC spy drama London Spy also picked up a surprise nomination.

Veteran actor Charlotte Rampling was nominated for best actress for her role as grieving mother Frances, who helps her late son’s lover uncover the conspiracy connected to his death.
