Another Walking Dead character is gay… and a total badass

Yet another character in the Walking Dead is gay – and may be coming to the small screen as such.

The character Jesus (Paul Rovia) is gay in the comics, but the actor who plays him in the hit TV series Tom Payne, has said it doesn’t matter if he is gay.

Payne told the Huffington Post: “I think that would be amazing”.

“Yeah, who cares? He’s a badass and he happens to be gay,” he adds.

He continues: “I think that’s one of the strongest things about Robert [Kirkman] and how he writes the comic books. Why wouldn’t he be? And I see no reason why that would be different in the show.”

Going on, Payne weighed in on the future of the Walking Dead, saying: “I think Carl is the future of the show – I mean, is the future of the comic books, I think,” he said.

“At the end of the day, I think Carl is the guy at the end on the last page. And I don’t know if they’ll go that way on the TV show, but I think it would be a logical place for them to go. Who knows?”

Earlier this year, Walking Dead star Norman Reedus said that fans of the show “get mad” at him for weighing in on his character’s romantic life.

Fans of the zombie drama – which routinely features graphic violence and gore – last year were up in arms after the show included a gay kiss.
