1. Throwing Shade
A weekly podcast hosted by Erin Gibson and Bryan Safi who discuss women’s issues, gay rights, politics and pop culture. The pair met while performing at the Upright Citizens Brigande in L.A. and debuted their first episode in 2011. Their main focus is to address issues ‘affecting ladies and gays’.

2. Ramble Redhead
Ramble Redhead has been running since 2005 and is hosted and produced by an unnamed gay man living in the States. He says the point of the podcast is to share his thoughts, victories and mistakes so others can learn from them. The podcast features interviews with members of the LGBT community and has been nominated for several awards.

3. Straight Talk with Ross Matthews
Since his debut as ‘Ross the Intern’ on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2001, Ross Matthews has gone on to write a book and host Hollywood Today Live. His weekly podcast, which began in 2014, allows us insight into his views on the news of the week and the entertainment industry while he also gives advice to listeners.

American LGBT YouTube sensation, Tyler Oakley has teamed up with his best friend, Korey Kuhl, to deliver a weekly half-hour round up of gossip, stories and pop culture news.

5. This Way Out
When it comes to LGBT world news, there’s no better place to turn than This Way Out. Their radio show has been on air since 1988 and their weekly podcast updates you on everything happening in the LGBT community around the world.

6. The Read
Hosted by queer friends, Kid Fury and Crissle West, The Read is billed as a “weekly podcast covering hip-hop and pop culture’s most trying stars”. Yet really it’s just two friends bouncing off each other, taking down casual racism while systematically becoming the best friends you wish you had in the process.

7. Homoground
Homoground is an hour-long weekly celebration of queer music and queer musicians and the hosts have featured over 400 independent singers and bands since the show’s inception in 2011. The podcast also includes interviews with up-and-coming queer musicians.

8. Cocktails and Creampuffs
For all you pervs out there, the boys of Cocktails and Creampuffs, Joey Bucheker, Marc Sacco and Matthew Crehan Higgins discuss the intimate details of their lives. The podcast, which is released every Thursday, also discusses celebrity culture and has been nominated for the Peoples Choice Podcast Award for the ‘Best GLBT Podcast’ three times.

9. Savage Lovecast
LGBT activist, Dan Savage started writing his sex advice column ‘Savage Love’ in 1991. 15 years later, in October 2006, he began recording a podcast supplement to the column (hence Savage Lovecast) which features telephone advice sessions.

10. Transition Transmission
Transition Transmission is one of the only podcasts around made solely for a transgender audience. The hosts, who call themselves the ‘Transgender Trio’, consist of Amber Neko, Alexandria Tribby and Ramona Knotts. The podcast tackles everything from gender reassignment to issues in the transgender community.

11. What’s the Tee?
RuPaul’s flagship podcast launched in April 2014. He hosts alongside fellow ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ judge Michelle Visage. The bi-weekly show feature behind-the-scenes thoughts on the show along with general chit-chat, life advice and interviews.

Named after the legendary ’70s Southern California gay bar, this weekly podcast, hosted by Matt Baume, speaks to a different guest every week and examines gay culture through pop iconography. “Each week my guest plucks a piece of entertainment from their past and answers the question, ‘How did this change your life?’” Baume said.
