A social experiment has exposed a powerful truth about the feelings people have about where they hail from and their ancestry.

With a simple DNA test, 67 people found out that their ancestry isn’t quite as clear cut as people might believe.

Travel company Momondo ran the experiment to strip away ideas the subjects had about patriotism, conflict and other countries.

At first all of the participants had felt proud of where they are from, their nationality, ethnicity and heritage.

But they also felt biased against other countries.

“Would you dare to question who you really are?” was the question they answered, and the results were shocking and powerful.

It leaves the viewer with important questions about acceptance of others, and how much more we might have in common than we suspect.
