This is the moment Orlando survivor Tony Marrero met Katy Perry on Ellen DeGeneres’s show. What she does for him is amazing!

Speaking on the Ellen show, Tony said that Katy’s song ‘Rise’ had helped him to get through the traumatic experience and had aided him in his recovery.

“The lyrics to that song are so powerful, so I embraced it,” he told the chat show host.

After having secretly organised for Katy to come on the show, Ellen asked: “Have you met Katy? You wanna meet Katy?”

Visibly moved as she came out, Katy hugged Tony before saying “hi guys” to the audience.

She said: “I’m shaking right now. We’re both shaking. We’re both electrified by each other and so inspired.”

The ‘I kissed a girl’ star added that she had met Ellen a few days before and didn’t think she would be able to hold herself together for the meeting.

“[I] folded a napkin in my hand like a little granny and had it up my sleeve,” she said.

Despite being shot four times, doctors described Tony’s survival as a miracle, with none of his major organs being hit by a bullet.

“Your story is so inspirational,” the 31-year-old singer told Tony.

Clearly emotional, Tony thanked Katy for her song adding, “your lyrics from that song helped me from the day that I was in hospital all the way to now. You’re amazing.”

Moved by what happened to Tony so much, Katy revealed the second surprise she had for him. To pay for his first year of film school.

She said: “I heard that you’re creative just like me and you have dreams and you want to go out there and do good and fulfill them and I heard that you want to go to film school. so I personally want to pay for your first year at film school.
