Man arrested for murder after Finnish LGBT rights activist dies in Stockholm

A prominent LGBT rights activist from Gothenburg has died after being found seriously injured in Stockholm.

Kaj Heino was found seriously injured in an apartment in Stockholm on Tuesday, reports LGBT news site QX.se.

The Finnish LGBT rights campaigner died from his injuries.

Authorities have arrested one man on suspicion of murder following Heino’s death.

The 44-year-old victim who was well known in both Finland and Sweden for his LGBT rights activism hailed from the Turku archipelago.

He had been the chairman of Finland’s Seta LGBT rights organisaton and was the vice chair of the national Seta organisation.

In Gothenburgh he had been the chair of RFSL and the SLM Goteborg.
