Trump’s campaign chief called female graduates ‘a bunch of dykes’

Donald Trump’s campaign chief referred to graduates from women’s colleges as a “bunch of dykes” it has been revealed.

Stephen K Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News, was hired by the Republican billionaire this month to serve as the head of his campaign.

The Democrats have already raised concerns about some of the anti-LGBT headlines published on Breitbart under Bannon’s tenure, referring to the ‘Big Gay Hate Machine’ and ‘Trannies’.

Buzzfeed revealed this week that Bannon referred to graduates from the all-female Seven Sisters colleges as “dykes”.

Speaking in 2011 about Michele Bachmann, Ann Coulter, and Sarah Palin, Mr Bannon said: “These women cut to the heart of the progressive narrative.

“That’s why there are some unintended consequences of the women’s liberation movement… that, in fact, the women that would lead this country would be pro-family, they would have husbands, they would love their children.

“They wouldn’t be a bunch of dykes that came from the Seven Sisters schools up in New England. That drives the left insane and that’s why they hate these women.”

He added that women on the left were part of a “narrative that is all about victimhood”.

He added: “They’re either a victim of race. They’re victim of their sexual preference. They’re a victim of gender. All about victimhood and the United States is the great oppressor, not the great liberator.”

Democratic National Convention spokesperson TJ Helmstetter said: “Donald Trump should absolutely disavow his campaign CEO’s anti-gay slurs.

“It shocks the conscience that a major party nominee in the 21st century would stand by someone who uses hate speech directed at gay men and women.

“Trump’s divisive rhetoric and embrace of individuals who condone discrimination – like his running mate who is one of the most anti-LGBT governors in the country – show he is unfit to be president of the United States.”
