Country music legend Dolly Parton has expressed her love for fellow songbird Adele in the sweetest way – by writing a song about the Hello singer.

“I love her, love her, love her!” said Dolly. “Did you notice I used her name in one of the songs on the album?” she told Digital Spy.

“On ‘Head Over High Heels’, when I say ‘I put on my tight dress, hair piled on my head, painting my lips red and my eyes like Adele!'”

And the Jolene – who recently endorsed herself to become US President – singer says she doesn’t plan to stop there – she’d also love to duet with her fellow global superstar.

“I would love to do something with her. Maybe write a song? Maybe do a duet. So pass that word along!”

In good news for Parton fans, the legendary star says she has no plans to retire, as she releases her 43rd album this month.

“Why would I ever do that?! That word doesn’t register with me. I cannot possibly imagine retiring,” she said.

“What would I retire to? For me not to think that I would have something to do, that I would miss out on all the excitement and all the fans.

“All these dreams and creative ideas that I have. There is no way that I would ever retire.”

The singer earlier this year claimed that she has a large gay following because she also “fought for the right to be herself”.
