Bigots really can’t handle this hotel advert featuring a clothed gay couple looking happy
A homophobic organisation has taken umbrage at an ad by Hilton hotels which features a gay couple in bed.
The ad features two men in bed, smiling, wearing shirts and under a duvet. It includes the words “stop clicking around… start dreaming”.
But this proved too much for the adamantly anti-LGBT American Family Association who complained that the hotel company had overstepped with the ad, published in Travel + Leisure magazine, because it “isn’t a gay-specific magazine”.
The AFA responded with a post reading: “Hilton Worldwide shocked readers by placing a full-page ad that featured two men in bed together.
“If Hilton had advertised two men playing tennis, cards or having lunch, that would have been reasonable.
“Travel and Leisure isn’t a gay-specific magazine sent directly to homosexual’s [sic] homes,… It’s a widely distributed mainstream publication that can be found in many public places such as doctors’ or auto repair waiting rooms.”
This didn’t seem to bother the hotel conglomerate which responded with a statement.
A spokesperson said: “Hilton Worldwide is a global company of diverse cultures serving diverse guests,” “We are proud to depict and reflect our guest diversity in our advertising.”
“We are proud to depict and reflect our guest diversity in our advertising.”
The AFA is one of the most adamantly anti-LGBT Christian lobbying groups in America.
Several weeks ago Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump invited the AFA’s President Tim Wildmon to ‘advise’ him on policy and religion.
The AFA recently exploited the Orlando Pulse massacre to drive support for its anti-trans boycott of Target.
