Business is booming for gay sex workers at Republican Convention despite anti-LGBT platform

Despite the party’s overtly anti-LGBT platform, gay sex workers are apparently making a ton of money at the GOP convention in Cleveland.

Thousands of Republicans have flocked to Cleveland, Ohio this week for the Republican National Convention – where the party officially confirmed Donald Trump as Presidential candidate and greenlit the most regressive anti-LGBT party platform in decades.

The platform rejects attempts to ban ‘gay cure’ therapy for minors. claiming “parents should be free to make medical decisions about their children without interference” – while also insisting: “Natural marriage between a man and a woman is most likely to result in offspring who do not become drug-addicted or otherwise damaged.”

It calls for the Supreme Court ruling on equal marriage to be reversed, opposes transgender rights legislation, and calls for ‘religious freedom’ laws to permit anti-LGBT legislation.

But despite all of that moralising… it turns out Republicans aren’t actually that pure when it comes to gay sex.

Local gay sex workers have seen a boom in business as the convention comes to town, while Craigslist and hook-up apps are both full of Republican men looking for guys to have sex with… and some of them are willing to pay.

One escort told the New York Post: “Business has been way better. I’ve seen 10 clients so far.

“You could tell they were nervous, but once they became more comfortable, they seemed to be having a good time.”

Another escort has made more than $1,600 this week, primarily from guys near the Convention site.

He said: “I normally only make $200 to $300, but I’ve been seeing lots of guys in hotels downtown,”

Meanwhile, Queerty noted that Craigslist is full of ads from men actively advertising that they are Republicans.

One ad reads “Married guy seeks another married guy at the RNC”, while one reads: “RNC anonymous ass up bottm”.

Another ad says: “RNC visitors looking for a sub to use and abuse.”

Many of the ads insist on being ‘discrete’.
