A man who aimed a gun at a man he thought was gay, using homophobic slurs, and posted a video of the incident online has been arrested.

The man, who posts on Twitter using the handle @binswanson, shared the video in which he pulls out the gun at a man exiting a shop in Detroit.

He calls the man “gay as hell”, and says he is a “dick-in-the-booty-ass n******s”.

The victim, who is also being sought by police, runs away after he sees the man filming draw the gun.

According to Sergeant Michael Woody, the arrest of the perpetrator in the attack took place on Saturday.

The Sergeant said the man turned himself in, but police had also negotiated the terms of his surrender.

Police will seek charges against the man, and that he may be charged with a hate crime.

Many Twitter users took to the microblogging site to condemn @binswanson, the account which posted the video, tweets from which are now protected.

But before he did, he posted another tweet saying “I don’t give a fuck about none of that shit y’all saying… I hate gay n****s.”
