The Orlando Gay Chorus took to the stage at a choral event to perform a tribute to victims of the Pulse club massacre.

The chorus is formed of members of the LGBT community from the town where the horrendous event took place.

They took to the stage of Denver’s Ellie Caulkins Opera House this week in front of a 2500 strong crowd, partway through the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA) Festival.

The chorus launch into a rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, before inviting the crowd to join in.

The group said: “Orlando Gay Chorus members are sought out for condolences, hugs, and offers of sympathy. It has been an emotional but exceptionally fulfilling experience at Gala 2016.

“Thank you GALA Choruses! Your support has been overwhelming. We are ALL ambassadors of love and hope.

“Delivering a message of hope and love to the rest of the world, Orlando Gay Chorus does what they do best – spread love, support and hope through the joy of music.”

The London Gay Men’s Chorus recently released a full cover of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ to raise money for Orlando victims.

The choir performed the cover at a vigil held in Soho after the attacks. Videos of thousands of people at the vigil cheering for the choir have since circulated the internet.

John D Carrion, chairman of LGMC said: “The LGMC believes passionately that music has the power to heal and to inspire, to life souls and to unite people in times of joy and sorrow.”

“The Orlando attack was an act of hatred directed towards the LGBT community and we want to combat this hate with a message of love, hope and solidarity. The response to our performance at the vigil has been incredibly overwhelming and humbling for all of our members.”
