Texas Republican defeated after claiming Obama worked as gay prostitute to get drugs

A Republican school board candidate has lost her election bid – after claiming gay prostitute Barack Obama is using preschools to teach three-year-olds how to become homosexuals and “accept Islam”.

Mary Lou Bruner was standing for the state school board of education in Texas on the Republican ticket – but has attracted attention for her surreal claims and fixation on gay sex.

Ms Bruner, a close friend of Senator Ted Cruz’ father Rafael Cruz, claimed in a Facebook rant in March: “Obama has a soft spot for homosexuals because of the years he spent as a male prostitute in his twenties.

“That is how he paid for his drugs. He has admitted he was addicted to drugs when he was young, and he is sympathetic with homosexuals; but he hasn’t come out of the closet about his own homosexual/bisexual background.”

The school board candidate followed up her claims by insisting Obama is using preschools to turn 3-year-olds into homosexual Muslims.

However, in a surprising turn-around, it turns out there is such a thing as too extreme for the Texas Republican Party – which recently renewed a platform plank that describes homosexuality as a disorder.

Bruner was yesterday defeated in the party’s primary by Kevan Lufkin – a local chiropractor who enjoyed support from moderates.

In the run-off between the pair, Lufkin came out 18 points ahead – despite Bruner’s 19-point lead in the first round of voting earlier this year.

Kathy Miller of the Texas Freedom Network said: “Texas escaped an education train wreck tonight.

“If Bruner had ultimately won election to the board, she would have instantly become the most embarrassingly uninformed and divisive member on a board that already too often puts politics ahead of making sure our kids get a sound education.”
