Dad goes on bizarre ‘erect penis’ rant, resists arrest at school board meeting (VIDEO)
A parent has been arrested at a school board meeting in Florida after going on a strange rant about erect penises.
Dean Paterakis, who hopes to win a seat on the Brevard County School Board, made the comments at the public meeting.
In a video of the incident, posted by Florida Today, Paterakis is seen going on a strange rant about a situation when a teacher briefly and accidentally showed a photo of his erect penis to a class.
He says: “The reason why I am here now is that we are not putting children’s safety first.
“When you say what we need to use language that is appropriate in what we do in our schools (and) should be what we have here. Would it be okay now if I showed a picture of my penis to you guys? Because that’s what happened.”
According to reports, the school board had warned those speaking to avoid making “profane, abusive or slanderous speech”, but Paterakis was removed after he broke those rules.
He was cut short by school board chairman Anxy Ziegler, as he recalled the incident from 2014, where a teacher was briefly suspended for showing the photo of his penis to a class when scrolling through photos on his phone, which were projected onto a screen.
“That’s enough, Dean, that’s enough,” Ziegler is heard saying in the video. “It’s not appropriate. No, sorry that’s not appropriate.”
But Paterakis does not go quietly, and causes a fuss when a security guard comes to remove him from the podium.
“I have a right, I have a right to free speech,” Paterakis says. “I have a right to three minutes of free speech.”
As he is removed from the podium some in the crowd are heard chanting “let him speak”.
Two County Sherrifs are seen approaching and removing him from the stage as he dropped to the floor and crossed his arms and legs.
“I think it was a fair request to ask him to be civil,” Ziegler told the audience.
“We will not allow slanderous, abusive, or profane speech in the meeting,” he adds.
Following the incident, Paterakis was arrested, charged with disrupting a school function, as well as resisting arrest.
The parent wrote on Facebook of a previous incident when he was removed from a similar meeting.
He wrote: “Pedophiles are in our schools and only a few citizens are doing anything about it,” Paterakis wrote. “I was hoping to inform the majority of citizens that do not know. But unfortunately the BCSO and BPS are proving to be the protectors of these pedophiles when they create trumped up charges to silence me from exposing what sick things are going on in our schools!”
