John Hopkins psychiatrist claims trans people are ‘impersonators’
A ‘distinguished’ psychiatrist has claimed states transgender people are frauds.
The claims were made by Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Having studied trans people for 40 years, Dr. McHugh has published an article detailing his findings that they are simply trying to emulate the gender they identify with.
Dr. McHugh compares gender dysphoria to anorexia, claiming that “its treatment should not be directed at the body as with surgery and hormones any more than one treats obesity-fearing anorexic patients with liposuction”.
His article, Transgenderism: A Pathogenic Meme, contains observations such as “after pioneering sex-change surgery, we demonstrated that the practice brought no important benefits.”
Speaking to right-wing website CNS News, Dr. McHugh misnames Caitlyn Jenner when discussing her celebrity, accuses gender counsellors of encouraging trans people in “their sexual misassumptions” and claims that trans people are “victims” of a system that allows them to consider sex as a choice.
He proceeds to criticise the government’s decisions on not allowing “any treatments that can be construed as challenging the assumptions and choices of transgendered youngsters.”
“Think, for example, of the parents whom no one—not doctors, schools, nor even churches—will help to rescue their children from these strange notions of being transgendered and the problematic lives these notions herald,” warned McHugh.
According to Dr. McHugh: “Transgendered men do not become women, nor do transgendered women become men,”
“All (including Bruce Jenner) become feminized men or masculinized women, counterfeits or impersonators of the sex with which they ‘identify.’ In that lies their problematic future.”
However, there is apparently no point arguing against him, as he concludes his statements with “gird your loins if you would confront this matter,”
“Hell hath no fury like a vested interest masquerading as a moral principle.”
