A popular Ibiza drag star took to the stage of Britain’s Got Talent – and seriously wowed the judges with their performance.

Ruby Murry – the creation of 34-year-old Tom Lee – initially surprised the judges, with Simon Cowell checking whether her appearance was “an act or a lifestyle”.

But the drag singer shocked them even more by belting out opera classic Nessun Dorma – stunning both the judging panel and the audience.

Alesha Dixon said: “Your personality is amazing and you’re very funny, but jokes aside your voice is wicked. I did not expect that to come out of your mouth, that was fantastic!”

David Walliams added: “If only Pavarotti had dressed like that. You’re a fantastic singer!”

The act was picked by all four judges – making her way through to the next round.

Lee said: “Ruby is the first drag character I’ve created. I did a little bit of drag in the past for a pantomime and two years ago I created a cabaret duo show for the holiday industry.

“We ended up performing it in Ibiza. I began performing in the cabaret bars and hotels and I was spotted by someone from the Ibiza Rocks group who ran a night in Pacha.”

He added: “Britain’s Got Talent has been a fantastic rollercoaster ride so far. I decided to enter the show in the landmark 10th anniversary year because it’s set to be the biggest and best yet.

“There is something special about BGT that makes you feel included, its ‘anything goes’ vibe lets you be as wacky as you like and it gave me the perfect opportunity for me to showcase my unique act.

“Ruby is not a one trick pony either, as well as being a singer she is a comedian at heart. There is a lot more to come yet!”
