Ted Cruz to rally with extremist who blamed Holocaust on gay people
Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has invited an extremist anti-LGBT activist who blames gay people for the Holocaust to campaign alongside him.
Cruz is currently trailing Donald Trump in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination, but his campaign has been bolstered as the Republican mainstream unites against Trump.
The Republican Senator has repeatedly faced questions about his links to anti-LGBT extremists – but rather than distance himself, he will campaign alongside one this week.
Cruz has invited Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association to his rally in Ellisville, Mississippi.
The activist, who has claimed that Hillary Clinton is a lesbian and called for homosexuality to be re-criminalised, insists that “Hitler himself was an active homosexual” and gays were “at the heart” of the Nazi party.
He insists: “Hitler recruited around him homosexuals to make up his Stormtroopers, they were his enforcers, they were his thugs.
“Hitler discovered that he could not get straight soldiers to be savage and brutal and vicious enough to carry out his orders, but that homosexual soldiers basically had no limits and the savagery and brutality they were willing to inflict on whomever Hitler sent them after. So he surrounded himself, virtually all of the Stormtroopers, the Browshirts, were male homosexuals.”
Fischer has also rallied against inclusivity in the Boy Scouts of America, claiming the organisation should be renamed the “Boy Sodomisers of America”
The pundit was even ‘sacked’ last year by the American Family Association for his extreme comments after questions were raised about the group’s close ties with Republicans – though the ‘sacking’ was derided as a bogus PR stunt when it was emerged Fischer continues to host his AFA radio show.
Fischer revealed: “On Monday, Senator Cruz, for those of you that are interested, will be in the Ellisville area, and I’ve been invited to address a few words that’s gathered there at noon.”
The news will probably be interesting to Caitlyn Jenner, who said last week that she could serve as Mr Cruz’ trans ambassador.
