A video parodying Russian President Vladimir Putin has gone viral.

The video for the song ‘Putin Putout’ which features a catchy tune, is by Slovenian artist Klemen Slakonja.

It was debuted on the country’s programme which is used to choose its entry into Eurovision.

Despite being an entry into the competition, the video was shown on the show.

Featuring mentions of gay rights, Pussy Riot and nods to photos of the Russian leader wearing no shirt on the back of a horse, the video doesn’t hold back.

At the time of publication the video had been viewed over 2 million times.

Slakonja is not the only artist to have recently poked fun at the Russian President.

Russian punk band Pussy Riot last month released a new music video criticising the country’s criminal justice system and featuring a caricatured parody of Putin.

The band were jailed in 2012 for performances protesting against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
