When these kids saw their classmate with special needs being bullied, they knew they had to do something about it.

Fifth grader James at Franklin Elementary was an easy target for bullies because of his special education needs.

His mother says he never wanted to go outside at recess, and avoided contact with people for fear that he would be bullied.

But that all changed when these five classmates decided to do something about it.

His new friends took him under his wing, and ensured he wouldn’t be bullied any more.

They even clubbed together their own money to buy him his first Playstation, as his family were unable to get him one.

The result? Sports loving James says: “All these guys are the best friend anybody could ask for”

His mum’s reaction to the first time ever James’ friends came over to play says it all – “I’ll never forget it”.
