Ted Cruz still hasn’t condemned a ‘death to gays’ pastor who claims he’d smear himself in cow sh*t to protest gay weddings

Extremist Colorado pastor Kevin Swanson made the comments at the ‘National Religious Liberties Conference’ last year – which was attended by Presidential hopefuls including Ted Cruz.

Before being warmly embraced by Cruz, Swanson called for gays to be put to death, shouting: “Yes, Leviticus calls for the death penalty for homosexuals!”

Elsewhere in his wide-ranging speech, he also ranted: “There are families, we’re talking Christian families, pastors’ families, elders’ families from good, godly churches. whose sons are rebelling, hanging out with homosexuals and getting married and the parents are invited.

“What would you do if that was the case?

“Here is what I would do: sackcloth and ashes at the entrance to the church and I’d sit in cow manure and I’d spread it all over my body.

“That is what I would do and I’m not kidding, I’m not laughing. I’m grieving! I’m mourning! I’m pointing out the problem!”

Elsewhere at the event, Swanson called for children to be drowned rather than allowed to read Harry Potter.

Despite his string of disturbing, extremist comments, Senator Cruz has repeatedly ducked calls to condemn any of the pastor’s comments.

In his only statement on Swanson, Cruz insisted: “I don’t know what this gentleman has said or hasn’t said. I know that when it comes to religious liberty, this is a passion of mine and has been for decades and that I have been fighting for religious liberty for everyone.”

Swanson recently claimed the media has ‘upset’ God by focussing on his links to Cruz, claiming: “We experienced a media firestorm coming out of the conference.

“You don’t pull together a couple of ants and lift a fist to the Almighty and think you can get away with it.
