Planet Coaster is being lauded by fans for its introduction of LGBT families.

The eagerly awaited sequel to everybody’s favourite theme park simulation game is set to hit shelves later this year.

However, Planet Coaster is already winning praise from fans for its inclusion of a diverse range of park guests – including same-sex couples and LGBT families.

The makes of the game say it is “the future of coaster park simulation games.”

The game’s website says the developers have “created a living world where every guest is an individual with their own personality.”

“We’re building a connected global village where everyone can share in your creativity. And that’s just the start.”

Despite the hype, the makers are yet to comment on the decision to include LGBT characters – choosing instead to include the avatars in a comedic promo video based on staffing issues.

However, fans were quick to notice and praised Franchise for their subtle approach.

“This is the kind of nonchalant representation that makes me so damn happy,” one person said on Reddit.

“It’s just there. No big deal. And yet, even so, it means a lot to have it there. Also this game looks hilarious.”

Another added: “It’s little things like this that shows you that the culture is changing and it makes me so damn happy.”

Planet Coaster is scheduled for release in June 2016.
