A woman living in Norway has said she thinks she was “born in the wrong species”, and lives her life as a cat.

20-year-old Nano speaks in a YouTube video about her feline life, saying she realised she was a cat when she was 16.

Now she communicates by meowing, says she has a heightened sense of sight and hearing, and hunts mice at night.

Nano wears fake ears and a fake tail, and hisses when she sees dogs in the street.

In her video, which has been viewed over 100,000 times, Nano says psychologists “found out what was ‘the thing’ with me”/

“Under my birth there was a genetic defect,” she says.

Asked what she can hear, more than other humans, she says: “Suitcases rolling on the ground,” she says, “Keys clinking in pockets. People with ice under their shoes.”

On whether she was born in the wrong species, she says: “Yes, born in the wrong species.”

“It’s also obvious that I’m a cat when I start purring and meowing,” she explains. “And walking around on four legs and stuff like that.”

“I can see better in the dark than in daylight. That’s no problem,” she says. “I have been running a lot after animals that can be seen in the shadows,” she continues.

She shares her cat life with a friend Sven, and they both have a dislike of water. They meow at each other in public.
