Three trans women have been found dead in one day in Brazil, and another seriously injured in a stabbing.

Two cases, separate, but possibly rated crimes, took place on Sunday 17 January in the centre of Capão da Canoa, Brazil.

Nathallya Figueiredo, 25, who had recently arrived form France, was found in her car with multiple stab wounds, and died en route to the hospital.

A second case of a stabbing, of Avenida Atlântica, was stabbed in the chest and arm, and was taken to the Santa Luiza Hospital.

She remains in serious condition and police are investigating whether the two cases are linked.

Marcia Cabrita was found dead on Sunday

A third trans woman was found dead on Sunday 18 in Cidade Nova I, a district of Senhor do Bonfim. Marcia Cabrita, 38, was found dead by a friend at her residence, but it is unclear how she died.

She was the founder of a local samba school, and was well-known in the region.

The body of another trans woman was found dead, reports PlanetTransgender, on Sunday morning.

The body, which was unidentified, was found under the Francisco Inácio Nascimento street bridge near the river Forquilhas in Sao Jose.

NB. Brazilian media refer to trans women as ‘gay men’ or ‘transvestites’.
