Global underwear traditions revealed to celebrate start of 2016 (VIDEO)

Joe Williams January 3, 2016

A video has been released to celebrate some of the weird and wonderful underwear traditions across the world.

Men’s underwear bloggers The Underwear Expert has produced a fun new video to show the various traditions followed by men all over the world.

From the weird to the wacky, male model Jared North helpfully sports a range of different under garments in to help explain each country’s wonderfully bizarre traditions.

Examples often come for South America or other hispanic countries, such as Puerto Rico, where white underwear is believed to aid in fertility and good health.

Wearing red and eating grapes in Spain is seen a symbol of life and hope in the cold winter months, while polka dots in the Philippines signify prosperity.

Yellow is popular in a host of countries, such as Colombia, Ecuador and Chile.

It often signifies happiness and good fortune – while red is believed to ward off bad luck in China.

However, if you want to avoid a year filled with doom and gloom, many countries believe wearing black underwear in January may bring misfortune in the year ahead.
