Cheeky Star Wars-inspired condom ad features guys having naked ‘lightsaber’ duel

Nick Duffy December 15, 2015

This cheeky new ad takes inspiration from Star Wars… but you won’t catch Darth Vader doing this any time soon.

The French clip takes the guise of an ad for ‘glow in the dark’ condoms, taking inspiration and sound effects from the Star Wars franchise.

It features two young men having a duel with their ‘lightsabers’ – only for the dad of one of the boys to walk in, finding them naked.

The ad isn’t all it seems, however – rather than just promoting condoms, it appears to be a stunt for smartphone brand Wiko Mobile, which is apparently including them in purchases.

Check out the video below (may take a second or two to load).

The campaign isn’t the first to put a gay spin on Star Wars, as hype builds around the sci-fi franchise’s revival.

Campbell’s Soup launched an adorable new ad campaign, to celebrate their ‘Star Wars’ edition soup.

In the clip, real-life fathers Larry Sullivan and David Monahan take turns impersonating Darth Vader, telling their son: “I am your Father.”

However, there’s been a disturbance in the force – and homophobes aren’t happy.

Christian campaign group One Million Moms are trying to boycott the company, for featuring a gay couple.

It’s their latest in a long line of protests and boycotts – most of which have been entirely ineffective.
