It’s a tired old stereotype: but are lesbians really better than gay guys at DIY?

Buzzfeed decided to put the theory to a decidedly unscientific test, pitting a pair of gay men against two lesbians in an IKEA flatpack challenge.

The teams were challenged to construct a chest of drawers – IKEA’s Brusali to be exact – from flatpack.
Team Lesbian joked: “We’re about to kick some ass…gay ass!”

The gays were less enthusiastic: “They can build an entire room around us, before we can build this one piece of furniture!”

Both teams got off to a less than impressive start, cracking pieces of wood and breaking small parts… with Team Lesbian even drawing blood.

However, there was a surprise upset after the hour was up – with the lesbians making less progress than the gays.

One of Team Lesbian conceded: “I kind of pride myself on this stereotype… so I’m a little hurt!”
