A new sketch on Saturday Night Live (SNL) reveals the utter absurdity of anti-trans bathroom arguments.

Pete Davidson joined the Weekend Update on SNL, to talk about the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance which failed to pass last week.

Specifically, he talked about the argument used by some that men would use trans discrimination protection laws to sneak into women’s bathrooms.

“So the theory is that guys, in their relentless quest to watch women go to the bathroom, are going through years of hormone surgery, changing their names, their wardrobe, coming out to their families, all for that big payoff of peeing in a room without urinals. What is this fantasy that they think is going on in there?” he said.

“Even if for some reason you’re desperate to use women’s bathrooms, you don’t need a sex change to do it, you can just walk in! There’s no bouncer! The door’s right there. Seriously, I’ve been using the ladies room here to poop for the last two months.”

After a bitter campaign that focused on transgender bathroom access, HERO was overwhelmingly voted down by the residents of Houston.

After the vote, Houston’s openly lesbian Mayor Annise Parker said “This was a campaign of fear-mongering and deliberate lies,” .

“No one’s rights should be subject to a popular vote.”
