The celebrity blogger is starring in a new spoof Off-Broadway musical.

Perez Hilton is a household name.

Maybe not in every house. But for those who seek gossip and exclusive Hollywood stories, Perez is definitely a personality to follow.

He’s also the household name associated with the new Off-Broadway musical spoof “Full House,” based upon the long-running television sitcom.

This Perez may not be the same one we’re used to reporting on the latest Hollywood dish, it’s a singing and acting Perez who takes on the dual roles of Danny Tanner and the actor who played him on TV, Bob Saget.

“The journey from wholesome dad to foul-mouthed comic is so fun,” says Perez, who is having a field day playing the roles in the hilarious spoof.

This isn’t Perez’ first acting role either, having appeared in the horror film “Campfire Stories,” in 2000.

He also has another horror film in his future. “I’m starring with Heather Morris in a film called ‘Most Likely To Die,’ which I’m very excited for everyone to see,” he says.

His acting career actually isn’t just a passing phase. He’s always had an interest in acting and performing. He remembers “jumping up on stage at a Gloria Estefan concert to do the Conga with her.”

With his large social media following, you would think Bob and Tobly McSmith, who created the “Full House” musical, tracked down Perez to be in their show. But it was actually Perez who sought them out. “I left a comment on Facebook about wanting to be in ‘Full House’,” he recalls. “We then went out on a date. And the rest has been so easy and fun!”

With comical shows like “Full House” and an appearance on “Millionaire Matchmaker,” one might think Perez has softened over the years from his hard hitting gossip columns. But Perez disagrees, “my abs have hardened over the years,” he jokes, “because I want to get laid more!”

Yet his tender side comes out when you talk about romance and dating. His “Matchmaker” episode didn’t lead to a love connection but he says he “remains open and available to someone special. I’m busy but not too busy for love,” he says.

But with his current schedule, it might be hard to find time for love. He is in “Full House” at least through December, but he’s also become a top podcaster. “I’m having so much fun doing my podcast – about all things pop culture plus my life,” he says.
