The boxer says he feels ‘free and happy’ after finally coming out as gay.

In yet another twist in the boxer’s story, Yusaf Mack has admitted his sexuality live on air.

The story began after it was revealed the sports star had appeared in a gay adult film – though he claimed he was drugged and violated by the adult film company who produced the video.

Throughout the ‘controversy’, the sportsman has stated that he is not attracted to men.

“My whole life, I’ve been what they call a whoremonger. I love females. The only time I touch a man is when I’m in the ring fighting,” he told Philly.com.

However, he swiftly retracted the claim after DawgPoundUSA.com threatened to sue, saying he was fully conscious and willing throughout the performance – before coming out as bisexual.

Now, Mack has gone one step further – coming out as gay during a TV interview regarding the ‘scandal’.

“I’m gay, I’m tired of holding it in, it is what it is, I live my life, I’m gay,” he told Quincy Harris on Philadelphia Fox 29.

The father of ten – who has split with his fiancé – said he had known he was gay for about “eight years”, but was terrified to come out for fear of ridicule and rejection.

Mack said he felt suicidal when the film first came out and that he lied about being drugged in a bid to protect his children.

Regardless of his cover story, his oldest daughter told Mack to “kill himself” for embarrassing the family after the video was released.

Asked why he did the film if he was scared of exposing his sexuality to his family, the boxer – who is rumoured to have appeared in more porn flicks – said he “didn’t think anybody in Philadelphia would see it”.

Despite the backlash, Mack now says that he is relieved that he finally be honest and open about who he is – although he assured fans that he is “still Yusaf Mack”.

“The truth is out, and I’m sorry. You gon’ like me or love me regardless. I’m still me. So when you see me on the streets, I’m still Yusaf Mack.”
