The third annual PinkNews Awards took place last week at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with a number of politicians and LGBT groups honoured for their equality work.

Speakers at the event include Lib Dem leader Tim Farron, Secretaries of State Nicky Morgan and Sajid Javid, former Labour leader Ed Miliband, former SNP leader Alex Salmond, broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire.

Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Tobias Ellwood opens the PinkNews Awards

Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities Nicky Morgan delivers a keynote address, and presents the Community Group of the Year award to YesEquality, for the Irish referendum campaign.

Karin Cook of Lloyds Banking Group presents the award for Member of The Year jointly to Ruth Davidson MSP and Maria Miller MP.

Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron presents the award for Peer of the Year to Lib Dem peer Baroness Barker.

Shadow Secretary of State for International Development Diane Abbott presents the award for Broadcaster of the Year to Victoria Derbyshire.

Rhona Cameron presents the PinkNews Ally Award to Scotland’s former First Minister, Alex Salmond MP.

Labour’s Shadow Minister for Mental Health, Luciana Berger, speaks about the importance of mental health.

PinkNews CEO Benjamin Cohen presents former Labour leader Ed Miliband with a Special Award.

Culture Minister Ed Vaizey presents the Public Sector Equality Award to the Ministry of Defence.

US Ambassador Matthew Barzun presents the Advertising Campaign of The Year award to Guinness, for an ad featuring rugby player Gareth Thomas.

Secretary of State for Business Sajid Javid presents the Corporate Equality Award to LGBT Leaders.

Prime Minister David Cameron sends a message of support.

Irish Ambassador presents the Lifetime Achievement Award to Senator David Norris.
