10 Reasons to apply to the LGBT Leaders Conference

Joe Williams October 17, 2015

LGBT Leaders is a conference for LGBTQ students interested in business and politics.

If you haven’t already, don’t worry: we’ve just extended our application deadline until 31st October.

Here are 10 reasons you should apply!

1. It’s a chance to make friends and meet students from all over the country, and all over the world!

At the inaugural conference in February there were over 120 students from 39 Universities, and November is set to be even bigger and more diverse.

2. It remembers that bisexuality exists!

The bisexual panel featuring the author of The Bisexual Index sets apart LGBT Leaders as actually remembering the B (screw bi-erasure!)

3. It’s affordable

Tickets are just £15, and travel reimbursements are available.

4. It’s a chance to get political

LGBT Leaders will host 3 MPs, and MEP, the Leader of the Green Party, a Lib Dem Peer, the first out Trans parliamentary candidate, and Labour’s LGBT Global Envoy.

5. It offers some unique opportunities

Where else are you going to see a gay imam and a gay priest debate queer rights?

6. It gives women a platform

With women- focused panels on business and politics, we’ve strived to make our conference as balanced as possible.

7. There’s a careers fair

Whether you’re seeking a job or the newest corporate stash, some incredible firms will be sending LGBTQ representatives to meet students and network.

8. A new profile picture

Stunning views from the Clifford Chance offices offer the perfect backdrop to your new profile pic.

9. Learn how to apply for jobs in law with the commercial law workshops

With workshops throughout the day, applying for vac schemes and training contracts just got easier.

10. The Queen of Eurovision herself wants you to go
