A man has been praised on social media – after he let a distressed man with cerebral palsy cuddle up to him on the bus.

21-year-old student Godfrey Cuotto was snapped on a bus in Hamilton, Ontario after he tried to comfort Robert.

The photo was shared thousands of times after appearing on page ‘Only in Hamilton’.

The poster wrote: “I would like to say thank you to the guy who was [sat] beside a special needs gentleman.

“He allowed him to hold his hand and find comfort well in a packed bus.. It makes my day when I see stuff like that.”

Mr Cuotto told Kiss: “I was going home from a burrito place downtown with my boys, and this guy just grabs my hand.”

“I stayed with him, held his hand.”

He added: “What am I going to do? Sometimes you just have to be selfless and put someone else’s needs above yours.”

Robert’s family have contacted Mr Cuotto to say thank you for helping him in his time of need.

Last year, a man with cerebral palsy opened up about his first trip to a gay bar…

Andrew Morrison-Gurza, from Richmond Hill in Ontario, shared his story as part of LGBTQ community project I’m From Driftwood.

A new comic strip has shone the spotlight on how ‘sinful’ being gay really is.
