Vote for PinkNews Community Group of the Year Award
Later this month, the third annual PinkNews Awards and tenth anniversary party will take place at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Celebrating the contributions of politicians, businesses and community groups towards what has been another historic year for LGBT equality in the UK, the event will also mark the tenth anniversary of the launch of PinkNews.
The event – which is being generously supported by Lloyds Banking Group – will be held in Durbar Court and the Grand Locarno Suite, will feature an array of high-profile politicians and ambassadors.
Speakers will include the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Sajid Javid, the Education Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities Nicky Morgan and Shadow International Development Secretary Diane Abbott.
Other speakers and high profile guests include the Leader of the Liberal Democrats Tim Farron, Leader of the House of Lords Baroness Stowell, the former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond, the Ambassador of the United States of America Matthew Barzun and the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland Daniel Mulhall.

While some of the awards are being decided by a panel of expert judges, we are inviting our readers to vote for a number of others.
This award is about celebrating groups who have come together to champion equality for the LGBT community.
Below are the nominations for the community group of the year:
The Equal Marriage Campaign in Ireland (all contributing organisations)
Collectively, a host of organisations came together – along with all of the main political parties – to ensure a ‘yes’ vote during the world’s first same-sex marriage referendum in Ireland earlier this year.
UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group (UKLGIG)
The UKLGIG does vital work in promoting equality and dignity for LGBTI people who seek asylum in the UK, or who wish to immigrate here to be with their same-sex partner.
Switchboard
As one of the oldest LGBT charities in the UK, Switchboard provides confidential phone, e-mail and instant messaging services to support people who want to talk about sexuality and gender identity.
Broken Rainbow UK
Broken Rainbow UK is an LGBT Domestic Violence Helpline that provides confidential support to all members of the LGBT communities, their family, friends, and agencies supporting them.
The Rainbow Project (Northern Ireland)
The Rainbow Project works to improve the physical, mental and emotional health of LGBT people and their families in Northern Ireland.
Pride in London
This year’s Pride in London was one the biggest yet – bringing thousands of people from across the city to celebrate the London’s diverse and wonderful LGBT community.
Keshet UK
Keshet UK – awarded charitable status earlier this year – works to promote equality and diversity, advance education and eliminate discrimination in relation to LGBT people within the Jewish and wider community.
Changing Attitude
Changing Attitude England, founded in 1995, is a network of LGBT and straight members of the Church of England, doing vital work for change in the church’s understanding of human sexuality.
