Christopher Ciccone has spoken out in defence of the Kim Davis, labelling the gay community “sore winners”.

The county clerk from Kentucky was recently jailed after she refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, despite the recent SCOTUS ruling.

Ciccone posted the message on Facebook on Friday, claiming that Davis should be granted the right to deny the licenses – believing it constitutes as part of her “religious freedom”.

In another sweeping statement, the openly gay brother of the award winning superstar compared Davis to “a Muslim” (all Muslim women, in fact) in a bigoted bid to emphasise his point.

“The county clerk in [Kentucky] deserves about as much support as you would give her if she were a Muslim [woman] who insisted on covering her face and refused not only gay marriages licenses, but divorce, accusations of rape and driving a car without your man’s approval,” he wrote.

He then goes on to attack gay people, criticising the gay community as a whole for their supposed “need to be sore winners.”

“Once again, the gay community feels the need to be sore winners.

“Is it so difficult to allow this women her religion?

“Or must we destroy her in order for here to betray her faith. No matter how we judge its truth.

“The rights we have all fought for, mean nothing, if we deny her hers.”

Although Ciccone is the first to mention “destroying” Ms Davis – who has compared her experience to that of Jewish people during the Holocaust – many have called for her removal from office and continued incarceration if she continues to disobey federal law and discriminate against same-sex couples.

Ms Davis’ arrest has garnered an increased amount of online attention – with a series of memes and fake Twitter accounts set up to highlight her own numerous marriages and supposed hypocrisy.

However, even though she is still behind bars, Davis may still carry some weight – as her signature could still be needed to officially legalise any licenses issued to same-sex couples by Rowan County Clerk’s office.

Ciccone began his entertainment career as one of Madonna’s backup dancers before the pair fell out.

Following a public spat with his sis’, Ciccone did what most loving, celebrity siblings would do and wrote a tell-all book about their estranged relationship.
