Joe McElderry to don Joseph’s famous rainbow coloured dreamcoat

Joe Williams September 1, 2015

The X Factor winner will be taking to the boards as another famous Joseph in 2016.

Joe McElderry – has won a number of reality TV shows – will be donning the famous coat of many colours for a UK tour of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat next year.

The performer won The X Factor in 2009 and subsequently had a number one single with “The Climb”. He has since released four UK albums, won ITV’s Popstar to Operastar and appeared in a number of stage productions.

Last week, McElderry was forced to defend himself by posting a topless photo of his topless torso online – after tabloids accused him of developing a “fuller figure”.

The comments were made after the star appeared on TV last week, promoting his musical ‘Tommy The Rock Opera’.

He was subsequently the subject of tabloid headlines including the Mail which said he had a “fuller figure”.

Others said he had a “fuller frame”, the Mirror, writing that he is “no longer a baby-faced teen”.

McElderry took to Instagram to retaliate, writing: “Just took my full figured little ass to the gym and thought I take a little pic,” along with the hashtag “dailyfail”.
