Twilight star Kristen Stewart has spoken openly about her sexuality for the first time.

In an interview with Nylon, the actress opened up about her sexuality, after extensive tabloid rumours.

She said: “Google me, I’m not hiding.”

She continued: “If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it.

“But I am an actress, man. I live in the f**king ambiguity of this life and I love it.

“I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ‘I’m coming out!’ No, I do a job. Until I decide that I’m starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receiving… I don’t. I’m just a kid making movies.”

In the interview, Stewart also noted Miley Cyrus’ recent announcement about her gender fluidity when the Wrecking Ball singer said she’s “literally open to every single thing that is consenting.”

Kristen Stewart added: “I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it’s necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing.”

Jules Stewart, the actress’ mother, allegedly spoke about her daughter’s girlfriend in an interview with the Mirror.

She said: “I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend I like her. I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men.”

However, she later denied making the comments.

Tabloid rumours have been circulating about Stewart for some time, with many printing invasive long-lens photo of her with rumoured girlfriends. PinkNews had banned publication of such reports until now.

Elsewhere in the interview, Stewart admits that whilst doing the early Twilight films, she hadn’t fully figured out her sexuality.

She added: “I’ve worked really hard at feeling free and open while not selling it, or helping someone else sell it.”

The star of upcoming comedy American Ultra – in which she stars with the Social Networking star Jesse Eisenberg – concluded on her sexuality with: “I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it’s necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing.”
