Rosie O’Donnell has responded to insults made by Donald Trump during last nights Fox News Republican debate.

During the debate, host Megyn Kelly quizzed Trump on his past remarks towards women – particularly his habit of making comments about their appearance and weight.

“You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,” Kelly said.

Trump responded to Kelly’s accusations with: “Only Rosie O’Donnell.” This drew massive cheers from the crowd in attendance.

Kelly corrected Trump by saying: “For the record, it was well beyond Rosie O’Donnell,” and continued to question him about his role in the ‘war on women’.

The lesbian TV host took to Twitter in response to Trump’s attack. Rosie posted a short tweet which simply read: “try explaining that 2 ur kids”.

Trump has yet to respond, but judging by his past behaviour he is likely to weigh in.

Rosie’s feud with Trump goes back almost a decade. In this clip from her time on ‘The View’, Rosie made fun of Trump’s infamous comb-over:

In 2011, Trump ‘congratulated’ Rosie on her new relationship by tweeting: “I feel sorry for Rosie’s new partner in love whose parents are devastated at the thought of their daughter being with [Rosie]–a true loser.”

In the run up to last night’s debate, Bette Middler poked fun at the Republican candidates on Twitter.
