This ‘anti-gay’ Governor’s website is now a gay chatroom

An LGBT activist has bought up a web domain in the name of Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson – and re-directed it to a gay chatroom.

The Republican politician has been a consistent opponent of LGBT rights since coming to power earlier this year, outlawing legislation protecting LGBT rights as well as signing a “Religious Freedom Restoration” law.

However, when an activist discovered that Mr Hutchinson had neglected to buy up internet domains in his name, he decided to reclaim one – as a gay chatroom.

Attempting to visit ‘AsaHutchinson.com‘ now directs to the website LGBT Chat – a community forum for LGBT people.

The activist explained: “Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has allowed the passage of several anti-gay bills to become law in Arkansas, from one that took away the ability of cities to decide if they want to add protections for LGBT citizens, to ‘religious freedom’ legislation that he pushed, then watered it down a bit at the last minute due to enormous pressure from the business community.

“He’s also worked towards banning gays from being able to adopt children. I noticed his website was available, AsaHutchinson.com, so I have purchased it and redirected the traffic to the forum.”

“I will hold on to the site in case he runs for re-election in the future and will update it then based on his record as Governor during this term.”

Another activist previously bought up domains related to politicians in Indiana who voted through the state’s anti-gay law – and re-directed them to a report on homophobia.
