Moving to Canada after SCOTUS gay marriage ruling? You might want to know something…
Quite a few people have taken to Twitter to express their distaste at today’s landmark SCOTUS ruling on same-sex marriage – but these ones might be in for a surprise.]
Today the Supreme Court issued an opinion that all couples in the US, straight or gay, have a constitutional right to marry.
When the ruling broke, dozens of people took to the microblogging site to write that they were “moving to Canada”.
The slight issue with that plan, they may not have bargained for, is that Canada legalised same-sex marriage almost ten years ago.
Oops.
Luckily there were quite a few people on Twitter to set them straight.
