Gay porn star Jake Bass has opened up about blurring the line between being an adult entertainer and being an LGBT role model.

The model has attracted an unlikely following online after becoming known through pornography.

He was speaking to YouTube vlogger Calum McSwiggan, who is uploading a video every day in June alongside the London Lesbian & Gay Switchboard, for Pride month.

Jake Bass said: “As confident as I do seem on my social medias, whatever I exude, behind that I’m also a person who has his own insecurities.

“I do appreciate that people can look up to me, can look to this persona and feel empowered.”

He added of becoming an unlikely confidant for young people: “I get on a daily basis people asking me what to do.

“I see more and more artists, who are pointing out how horrible some situations are, in Russia and places like that.

“I think people should keep on doing that, raise awareness. I’m not expecting the world to change in a day, but that kind of thing can’t go on.”

Calum McSwiggan said: “It’s so important to make young LGBT+ people aware of the incredible services Switchboard provides and that’s why I wanted to try and reach them in a unique and different way. In celebration of LGBT Pride Month, I’ve created a diverse series of 25 videos.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with drag queens, porn stars, football teams, musicians, as well as sex and dating experts. I’m really proud of the series and it’s already receiving an incredible response.”

London Lesbian & Gay Switchboard (LLGS) provides confidential phone, e-mail and instant messaging services to support people who want to talk about sexuality and gender identity.

To raise awareness of the charity and its work, a number of celebrities including Tom Daley, Carly Rae Jepsen and Scott Mills have posted #SwitchboardSelfies on social media.
