Rapper Snoop Dogg has come under fire for a post about Caitlyn Jenner.

In an Instagram post, he congratulated fellow musician Akon on a charity project, and criticised Jenner at the same time.

He wrote: “Shout out to Akon!

“He is about to supply 600 million Africans with solar power.

“Im  really upset that this isnt major news but that science project bruce jenner is #Society”. [sic]

Commenters have pointed out that Akon’s Lightning Africa project was launched a week before Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover.

In January, Snoop Dogg was criticising for encouraging homophobia and transphobia because of an Instagram post he made, mocking a gay man.

Snoop Dogg came under fire for calling a fan a “fag” in September. He said: “U n ya boyfriend since u like Jumpn on my page disrespectn bitch boy go suck ya man n get off my line f.A. G”

Also known as Snoop Lion, he has said in the past that being gay will never be acceptable in hip hop, but then later claimed there will be an openly gay rapper “in the near future”
