Male version of ‘Hooters’ opens in Texas
Tallywhackers, a restaurant with scantily clad male waiters, has opened in Dallas, Texas.
The restaurant is a male version of the “Hooters” chain, and food is served by scantily-clad waiters.
Hooters is a popular chain in the US, known for employing attractive young waitresses who dress in revealing uniforms. Dallas Eater pondered: “If Hooters and Twin Peaks are considered breastaurants, does that make Tallywackers a… dickstaurant?”
Owner Rodney Duke said in a statement: “It’s time to let everyone know that Tallywackers is open and to roll out the red carpet and spotlight for our guests.
“Tallywackers is more than just a pretty face, show tunes and six pack abs. Everyone should come and try our fun restaurant concept that showcases hot men and a five-star chef that prepares food at three star prices.
“Tallywackers is a place where everyone can have a good time and I hope people will stop by to help us celebrate.”
A customer told KDAF: “I expected to see cute men scantily clad, and so far, I’m not disappointed.”
Mr Duke has said he plans to open another restaurant in Houston in the future.
A magazine involving queer men and food began publishing last month.
However, Texas State Representative Rick Miller last month filed a bill that would void all equal rights ordinances in the state that protect workers on such grounds.
Mr Miller’s own gay son condemned the bill, for aiming to strip protections from workers.
