This film-maker from Ireland has made an impassioned plea for a ‘yes’ vote on same-sex marriage in next week’s referendum.

Patrick Corr, a film-maker and dad, made the video to call for same-sex marriage, in order for his young son to be able to marry whoever he wants when he grows up.

In it, he talks about the debate over same-sex marriage heating up, as well as some confusions along the way including this homophobe who accidentally said he didn’t want men and women to be able to marry during a debate.

The Republic of Ireland will on 22 May vote on same-sex marriage. Early polls suggest a large amount of support for the measure.

The wording of the referendum measure was agreed earlier this year.

The exact wording will be: “Marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex”.
